The role requires analytical, innovative thinkers who can build cutting edge testing technologies and use next-generation automation techniques to successfully certify and automate eBay’s core engagement and merchandising platform: a global, distributed component architecture serving 100+ million visits a week for one of the largest eCommerce platforms in the world.

We are looking for an experienced, technically strong manager to help drive quality. The ideal candidate must have excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills, a strong background in development and test planning and project management, a passion for quality and engineering excellence, and have lead experience spanning multiple successful ship cycles. As a manager you will be working very closely with your counterparts in product development and product management on planning and strategy, and driving engineering standards and best practices inside the team. You will have an opportunity to build a dynamic team, and contribute to our long-term strategy and infrastructure.

Job Requirements


Experience with Object Oriented programming and design developing distributed systems
Experience building distributed systems that scale to millions of users
Minimum of two years’ experience building services using Java, REST, and SOAP
Demonstrated passion for learning from and implementing creative large-scale architectural patterns
Experience working on a customer focused team
Demonstrated passion for large scale systems and horizontal scale
Experience turning business requirements into simple solutions
Experience building and testing services using Java, REST, and SOAP
Thorough understanding of parallel algorithms and concurrency
Writing automation using Java, Junit, Selenium, Webdriver and other internal Java-based automation frameworks for Frontend, SOA/Services and messaging components
Performance/stress testing and cloud testing expertise a plus
