We want you for our team! eBay's Platform Quality team is responsible for using (and abusing) the latest software development technologies to create and power systems that serve up over 8 billion pages and perform over 70 billion read/write operations a day.

We are the first team to get the opportunity to work with the latest versions of eBay's world-class development technologies and we are the team that ultimately decides whether those technologies are ready to deploy to hundreds of eBay developers around the world.

Be able to articulate, evaluate and even evangelize testing strategies and ideas (e.g. TDD, test-first programming, exploratory automation) and apply them in eBay's search context. Work with other engineers, managers, producers, testers, and operations staff to develop innovative testing solutions that meet market needs with respect to the following areas: performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to testing goals and principles. Identify process and technology challenges and deficiencies that may need to be addressed, and drive those changes to successful adoption.

Identify project and product risks and be able to provide alternatives for reducing or mitigating risk.

Job Requirements

* 5+ years experience in requirements analysis, design and testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant applications
* 1+ years in personnel management: goals, reviews, hiring, leadership
* Experience in Java, JavaScript, JUNIT
* RDBMS experience
* Knowledge of Java EE and application servers
* Programming background, including JUNIT / Code Coverage (Emma)/mock concepts/static analysis, testing frameworks
* Experience in Agile Development methods is a plus
* Test planning and strategy, risk analysis is also a plus
BSEE, CS + 5 yrs + 1 yr supervising experience or MS + 4 yrs + 1 yr supervising experience

Education
BSCS or BSEE or Other Related 4yr Technical Degree
